

Vincent Joseph Incalcaterra of New City, N.Y., passed away Jan. 21. He was 79. Vincent was born Dec. 7, 1936, in Chiusa Sclafani, Sicily, Italy, to Pasquale and Celia Troia (Troy) Incalcaterra. At 14, he came to the United States with his family and settled in Yonkers, N. Y. He was a parishioner at Mount Carmel Church. Vincent explored several careers during his early working years, including time as a construction worker in New York City. He would proudly point out the buildings he helped construct when he took his children on day trips. He successfully became a beautician and went to work on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Vincent was a business owner in Rockland County for more than 50 years, operating full-service unisex hair salons and winning national awards for his outstanding creations. His businesses included La Scala in Spring Valley, Charisma in Hillcrest, Scruples in New City, and most recently, Vincent For Hair in New City. He served as a mentor to aspiring hair stylists and often donated his time and services to charitable efforts. He also visited ill clients at home or in the hospital and donated his services. He married Audrey Ruth Harty on June 14, 1958 at the Monastery Church of the Sacred Heart in Yonkers, N.Y. He was predeceased by his parents and his two sisters, Dina Sica and Domenica Paradiso. Vincent is survived by his former wife; his daughters, Laura Incalcaterra of Airmont, Gail Cosico and her husband Joseph of Valencia, Calif., and Judy Incalcaterra of Airmont; his son, Craig Incalcaterra and his wife Ann Marie of Lyndhurst, N.J.; his brother, Joseph Incalcaterra of Yonkers; his grandchildren, Andrew and Christopher Cosico and Peter and Amanda Incalcaterra; and his nephews and a niece, and several cousins. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27, at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main St. in New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, 140 Maple Ave. in New City. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Vincent's name to People to People of Nanuet, NY.
