Violetta Kontos passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2015 at the age of 90. Violetta, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, was a kind, loving, and gentle woman who was committed to family and friends. She touched many with her love and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Andriana Rivera, son in law, Ralph Rivera, grandson, Chris, two great grandchildren, John and Paul, and her sister Irene. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 10am, at St. Constantine and Helen Church in West Nyack followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Violetta to Mercy Health Foundation, 301 St. Paul Place, Baltimore, MD 21202.
