William L. Butch passed away on January 31, 2011 at home with his family by his side. He was 68 years old. William was born in Astoria on February 6, 1942 to William and Rose Butch. Billy proudly served his country in the Navy from 1961-65. He retired from the NY Plumbers Local Union #1 after 42 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Gail and his daughter Kathleen and her husband Michael Moore. He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren Taylor and Michael Liam. Also surviving is his sister, Barbara Smith. Family will receive friends on Thursday February 3 from 2-4 & 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday February 4 at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10:15am in West Nyack, NY. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stockum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
