Billy was born in County Kilkenny, Ireland on January 20, 1939. He immigrated to the United States in April 1964 where he embarked on a lifelong career as a Welder for Con Edison.
Billy met his adoring wife, Elizabeth, at an Irish dance in the Catskills and married in October 1972. They enjoyed a beautiful life together until her passing in 2021. Billy was the devoted father of James, Maria (Rich), Margaret (Christopher), and Eileen (John). Cherished grandfather of Emily, Daniel, Keira, Julia, Lena, Marissa and Alaina. They will miss his love, gentle demeanor, and enjoying an endless amount of ice cream with him.
He had a quiet strength and will be remembered for providing selflessly. He loved cheering for his beloved Kilkenny Cats, playing cards with his friends and celebrating his Irish heritage. He was the proudest grandpa and enjoyed watching all his grandchildren’s sporting events. Billy will be immensely missed by his children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 7th at 11 am at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church in Garnerville, NY. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY.
