Charles "Bob" Amundsen

Charles Robert "Bob" Amundsen passed away peacefully on January 26, 2022, at the age of 97, surrounded by family. Born in Minneapolis on July 29, 1924, Bob married the love of his life, Sally Huston, on June 7, 1944, at Saint Phillip's Catholic Church; they were married for 66 years until Sally's passing in 2010. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Madeline & Charles, sister Lois Buhse, son-in-law Rod Zank, and his beloved wife Sally. Bob is survived by four daughters, Teresa (Francis) Kuehn, Mary Lou (John) Galzki, Jeannie Zank, and Nancy Lindberg; nine grandchildren, Farley Kuehn, Fran (Fos) Kuehn, Faron Kuehn, Mindy (Christian) Robert, Justin Galzki, Shannon Sorenson, Matt (Brooke) Zank, Travis Lindberg, and Nick (fiancé Libby) Lindberg; and nine great-grandchildren: Jessica and Dylan Kuehn, Noah, Alexander, Ian, and Thomas Robert, Joe and Jaden Sorenson, and Logan Zank.

Bob grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from North High. He was a WWII veteran. After the war, he worked at Durkee Atwood for 41 years. Bob was well known for his love and dedication to his family, witty sense of humor, elaborate Halloween costumes, and his lifelong passion for gardening. He will be greatly missed. Special thanks to the staff and management at River Oaks of Anoka and Allina Hospice for all the support and care provided over the past two years. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to a charity of your choice. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be held on February 12th, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Saint Stephen's Catholic Church, 525 Jackson Street Anoka, MN 55303. Visitation and viewing will be one hour prior to mass. Luncheon will be served after mass. Private interment to be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bob's grandsons, all wearing one of Bob's ties: Farley, Fran, & Faron Kuehn, Justin Galzki, Travis & Nick Lindberg, and Matthew Zank.
