Curtis H. Miller

May 8, 1942 – June 27, 2024
Obituary of Curtis H. Miller
IN THE CARE OF

Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home

Curt Hull Miller, of Blaine, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on May 8, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN to Les and Phyllis Miller, Curt was a proud graduate of Washburn High School and the University of Minnesota, where he earned a degree in Business.

Curt was the loving husband of cherished wife Cathy. Together, they loved and supported their kids Randy (Shelly) Miller, Steve (Barb) Miller, Beth (Scott) Myers, Kammi (Allen) Debes, and Danielle (Keith) Knutson. Curt was the proud grandfather to Jeremy, Sean, Mekenna, Sam, Bry, Cassidy, Isabelle, Nikki, Kaitlyn, Kenny, Jake, Theo, Ashley, Rachel and Michael. He was also blessed with two beautiful great-grandchildren Harrison and Hallie.

In addition to his immediate family, Curt is survived by nephews Scott and David McKnight, and niece Diane McKnight. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Eileen “Mickey” McKnight. Curt is also survived by many friends and long-standing colleagues.

The majority of Curt’s career focused on pioneering the medical device industry. He founded Micromedics, Inc. in 1982 and was its CEO until its sale in 2011. An engineer at heart, Curt designed and patented several successful medical devices throughout his career. He served on the boards for his communities in Inver Grove Heights and Blaine sharing his influence and negotiating skills. He was passionate about business and eager to lend an ear and give advice to anyone who asked for it.

Though his family had some doubts he’d be able to relax into retirement, he did so beautifully, focusing on travel, woodworking, singing, and pursuing a perfect golf swing.

Per Curt’s wishes, private services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to any of the following wonderful organizations: the American Heart Association, Gillette Children’s Hospital, Masonic Cancer Center, and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra.
