David grew up in New Hope, MN attending Totino-Grace High School graduating in 1982. He attended medical school at the University of Minnesota graduating in 1991, and began his residency at Methodist Hospital, finishing in 1994. He practiced medicine for 30 years and retired at 61. He spent his free time traveling the country visiting his daughters and grandchildren. He was very family oriented. He wanted to make sure that he left his mark in their hearts after every visit. He put effort and humor into every relationship. His love for his family and friends gave him joy and comfort. He never turned down an opportunity to make new memories.
David was preceded in death by his parents Charlette and Daniel Dillon; and his sister Kathleen Spizale.
David is survived by his daughters Bailey Tull, Delaney Parks, Tierney Dillon, Regan Rivera, Riley Dillon, and Cassidy Dillon; and many other family members and friends.
An evening visitation will be held at Kapala Glodek Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, MN 55428, on Monday, October 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 7301 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, MN 54428, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, with visitation at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m.
A graveside service will take place at Gethsemane Cemetery, 8151 N 42nd Ave, New Hope, MN 54427, US, on Tuesday October 6, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
