What a joy for me to know Diana. We met at school in New London when I was substitute teaching. Her sense of humor always made the evening enjoyable. She would 'speak her mind' when she didn't want to do something too. She worked SO hard, and we got to be good friends. We met at Cash Wise for breakfast a couple times, and then the little restaurant closed so we didn't do that anymore. She would tell me about her 'upcoming travels' and then tell me about them when she returned. Just last week I asked a lady if she knew where Diana was now because I had lost contact with her. She was a gem and I loved her. Rest In Peace Diana.

Having known Diana for nearly 20 years I was blessed with witnessing her growth, determination and her love for new life experiences. We shared the love of a dark roast blend of coffee. I watched with excitement for her as she diligently worked on her GED and other life altering opportunities. I thoroughly enjoyed knowing Diana as she met many day to day challenges, her determination for independence was incredible. As much as Diana liked to "keep to herself" she also loved to travel and take cruise ships to various tropical and exotic destinations. Her passing came with great sorrow and shock for all who new her. Not to trivialize her strength and courage and in her own way her enthusiasm for each new day, each puzzle, latch hook and adventure or excursion; Diana's passing will ease her own personal struggles, physical pain etc. Many many people can say they are a better person for having known and loved Diana. RIP! We will all miss Diana!!
