Helen V. Smrstik

Helen Veronica Smrstik (Barczak) age 92. Born October 26, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away February 6, 2011. Helen retired from her career at McGill Jensen Printing in St. Paul. She was a longtime member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Golden Valley where she served in the Loaves and Fishes program with her husband, George. She was also a long-term member of Golden Valley Women's Club and the St. Therese Auxiliary. Preceded in death by husband, George; sisters, Florence Barczak, Josephine Beck and Mary Weller. Survived by nieces and nephews, Sonia Fortier, Karin Van Dyke, Alan (Karen) Beck, Kathy (Cliff) Stafford, Sharon Tighe, Patricia (David) Knight, Colleen (Ron) Ede, Kevin Tighe; grand nieces and nephews, Genelle White, Stuart and Liam Tighe, Alex and Stephanie Van Dyke, Allison Beck and godchild, Robert (Mauri) Evans. Visitation Sunday, February 13, 2011 from 1-4 PM with Prayer Service at 3:30 PM at Kapala-Glodek Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, Minnesota. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, February 14, 2011 at 11 AM, with visitation 10-11 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2323 Zenith Avenue North, Golden Valley, Minnesota. Interment Gethsemane Cemetery. Memorials preferered to St. Joseph Home for Children or Our Lady of Good Counsel Free Cancer Home.
