James Richard Hill
October 5, 1930 – December 31, 2020
James “Jim or Jimmy” Hill of Crosby, MN went to his heavenly home on Dec. 31, 2020 due to complications of Covid.
He was born and raised in Virginia, MN with 13 other siblings. His parents, Herman Hill and Ida (Kortes) Hill, both emigrated from Finland.
Jim proudly served in the Air Force with the 78th Air Police Squadron at the Hamilton Air Force Base in California.
Jim attended college at Dunwoody, and became a carpenter by trade. He worked in construction for several years in Minneapolis and worked years as a carpenter for Honeywell where he retired.
He has always been an active member of church. The Deerwood Baptist church was his most recent home church where he often played harmonica and attended several mission trips. He loved the Lord and wanted to share the gospel in any way he could.
Jim was a family man! He always kept his faith and family first. It was fun to watch Jim spend time with children and dogs. They were so precious to him. He liked to fish and hunt, and was an avid sports fanatic. He was known for his fancy suspenders, he loved to tell jokes, was a bit of a prankster, could be hard-headed and could tell stories like no other.
Jim was the last survivor of his parents and siblings and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his previous wife Louise Hill, Jim Bergren and his granddaughter Krystal.
Survived by his beloved wife Verna, children, Byron and Louise Hill, Beth Bergren, Dennis and Ruth Isaacs, and Judy and Gordy Herrig. He is loved by extended family members including 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren.
Due to the Covid pandemic, we will decide on a Celebration of Life at a later date.

Uncle Jimmy was such a funny and kindhearted man. I got to visit with him and Verna before Covid kept visitors out. He will be truly missed.
