

He was born October 3rd, 1941, in Minneapolis, MN and raised in Golden Valley, MN. A 1959 graduate of Robbinsdale High School, he went on to study at the College of St. Thomas prior to beginning a career at Honeywell and Alliant Techsystems, where he retired after 35 years. He married his high school sweetheart, Denice in 1961 and had two children, Michael and Patrick. Jerry had a zest for life and enjoyed many activities, most of which occurred at their cabin on Holt Lake. These activities included fishing, hunting, golf, boating, woodworking, photography, canoeing, bicycling, scootering, motorcycling and ATVs. Jerry was a consummate handyman who built his own cabin, cabinets and furniture and helped pass these skills on to his sons.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Denice (Durkot); children, Michael (Tammara) Conrad, Patrick (Kristin) Conrad; grandchildren, Natalie Conrad, Sean (Stephanie) Conrad, Brooke (Mitchell) Paquin, Mallory Conrad; and great-grandchildren, Camden Paquin, Scout Conrad, Sloan Conrad, Bernard Paquin, Archibald Paquin, and Walter Paquin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Roberta Conrad; and his sister and brother in-law, Joyce (Jerry) Jorgenson; and brother in-law, Frank Durkot.
An Open House Celebration of Life will be held at Kapala Glodek Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, MN 55428, on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
A private interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, in New Hope, MN.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jerry's memory to be made towards St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
