Kathy was born on October 31st, 1935 and grew up in North Minneapolis. She was married to Kenneth Gohman for 19 years and he was the love of her life. She was a loving, devoted mother of Rick Fitzsimmons, LuAnn (Mark) Gorski, Scott (Patty) Fitzsimmons, John Fitzsimmons, and Carolyn (Marc) Martens. Stepmother to Barb (Wally) Olson, Gwenne Gohman, Kim (Scott) Vergin, and Mary (Mike) O’Donnell. A proud grandmother of five Ryan (Morgan), Kelly (Mike), Rachel (Jordan), Paige and Mason and great-grandmother of four Alayna, Dylan, Madilynn, Kaiden. She will be dearly missed by many friends and family especially Lois, Margarite and Carole, and close friend/daughter Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Josephine Martin; siblings Betty, Patty, Joann, Mary Jean, and Robert; husband Kenneth Gohman; son Rick Fitzsimmons; and step-daughter Terri (Brent) Sams.

Kathy and Ken loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, playing golf together, gatherings with friends, and living life to the fullest. “My Mom” would counsel the neighborhood teenagers and guide them thru the tribulations of adolescents. Most of all “MY Mom” said “I loved being a mother! This is why I was put on this earth!”

The family would like to express a special thank you for the loving care she received at Meadow Ridge Senior Living and Life Spark Hospice.

A private interment is planned at Fort Snelling.
