Loretta Ann Holmberg (Sporlein) was born on December 14th, 1939 and passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025 at the age of 85. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Sporlein; her son, David Holmberg; and her brothers, Walter and Robert Traczyk.
Loretta is survived by her sons, Scott and James Holmberg; her sister, Lillian Holmberg; brothers, Thomas and Richard Holmberg; sisters-in-law, Patty and Janice Traczyk; granddaughters, Tracy Ebertowski and Amanda Holmberg; great-grandchildren, Alex and Josephine Ebertowski; along with many cherished family members and friends.
Her Life
Born in Minneapolis in 1939 at the end of the Great Depression, Loretta grew up during a time of hardship but built a life filled with resilience, compassion, and love. For 20 years she worked as a Parent Advocate with Head Start, dedicating herself to helping children and families in her community thrive.
Loretta was known for her generosity and unwavering devotion to her family. She encouraged togetherness, supported her loved ones through every challenge, and created countless memories with those she held dear. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time in Card Club with lifelong friends.
Loretta spent her final years at Woodlake of New Hope, where she continued to show humor, warmth, and love until her peaceful passing.
Her Legacy
Loretta will be remembered for her giving spirit, her laughter, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her kindness touched the lives of many, and the memories shared with her will continue to bring comfort to those who knew her.
