Lynn Beneke (Davenport), of New Hope, MN passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. Born in Glens Falls, New York, on November 12, 1945, Lynn brought warmth, creativity, and joy to everyone who knew her.
Lynn graduated from Alexander Ramsey High School (1963) in Roseville, Minnesota, and earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota, graduating Magna cum laude. Lynn made her home in New Hope, Minnesota, for 54 years, building a life rich in love, laughter, and friendship.
Lynn’s vibrant spirit was evident in everything she did. She was an artistic soul with a generous heart, known for her curiosity, her love of travel, and her unforgettable gatherings. Whether she was reading, playing racquetball, dancing, or casting a line while fishing, Lynn embraced life with passion and joy.
She was preceded in death by her cherished son, James Beneke; her partner, Richard Compton and great-grandson Dominick Lutterman. Lynn is survived by her loving sisters, Pat Richards and Diane Rizzo; her son, Troy Beneke (Melanie); Sherri Compton (Jim) and Bruce Compton (Lisa); many adored nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the lives she touched.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 29 from 4:00-7:00 PM, with a time of sharing beginning at 7:00 PM at Kapala Glodek-Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, MN. Memorials directed to Foster Adopt MN/bts
