Great-Grandmother, and Friend
Margaret (Marge) Ferro passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, surrounded by her family. She was 81 years old.
Marge was born October 14, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Albert and Virginia Robinson. She attended Wheaton High School, graduating in 1956 at the early age of 16 after skipping a year in grade school. She married the love of her life, Bill Ferro, in October 1957 in her hometown of Wheaton, Illinois.
As a loyal wife and mother, Marge will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit, her sharp sense of humor, her devotion to family and friends, her willingness to serve others, and her steadfast faith in the Lord.
When Marge’s husband Bill took a job with Saudi Arabian Airlines in 1981, the couple relocated to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for five years. Their new location gave them opportunities to visit many of the world’s great cities, which they enjoyed immensely.
Marge had a quick wit, which stayed with her until the very end. An avid sports fan, she loved following the players and the statistics of the Tampa Bay Rays and the Chicago Cubs, her favorite teams. She was also a huge fan of Elvis Presley. Around the card table, she was known for besting nearly any competitor who dared to play her in a game of Florida Rummy.
Having a close, loving relationship with her family was one of the joys of Marge’s life. She is survived by her sister, Alice Gardener, three sons and their spouses, Steve (Genny Harvey), Terry (Wynne), and Brian (Ann), twelve grandchildren, Bob, Amanda, Ryan, Dan, Nick, Matt, Adam, Cassie, Andrew, Ben, Alex, and Megan, as well as four great-grandchildren Carson, Desmond, Owen, and Natalia.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband William Ferro, her brother, Richard Robinson and her sister, Marian Jehnke.
A joint memorial service for Marge and her husband Bill will take place at Plymouth Covenant Church on Saturday, April 17 at 11 a.m., with a lunch reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Marge's name may be made to Plymouth Covenant Church at 4300 Vicksburg Lane North, Plymouth, MN 55446. These donations should be directed to the “benevolence fund” to help those in need within the Twin Cities community.
