

Marguerite Edna Baye, fondly known as Maggie, age 97, of Plymouth, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in Robbinsdale on November 15, 2025. Born to Irving and Julia Phillips (Williams) on September 2, 1928, in White Earth, MN, Maggie’s 97 years was a testament to a life well-lived, filled with love and adventures.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Baye; partner of 20 years, Raymond Petersen; brother Donald, sisters Doris (Bill), Florence (Len), Jean & Carol (Tom). She is survived by brother-in-law, Arnold Kunde, many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly.
Maggie graduated from North High School which is where she met Howard. They were married on October 30, 1948. Maggie worked at Northrup King in her early years and then was employed at Northern States Power Company as a research assistant. Her & Howard traveled to many amazing countries for Howard’s work. Even living 18 months in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They built a beautiful lake home in Isanti and lived there until after Howard’s retirement. They moved to Lakeland, FL. After Howard’s passing in 1990, Maggie continued to go to FL in the winter and MN the rest of the year. In 2000, she met Raymond while bowling and they enjoyed many happy years together.
Maggie was a cherished member of the community, both in MN & FL, where she spent many adventure-filled years. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, puzzles, reading, and polka dancing. Her generous heart knew no bounds, and she was always ready to lend a hand or offer support to those in need. She will be remembered for the generous, thoughtful, and spirited person that she was. She will be dearly missed.
Her celebration of life will be at held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Kapala-Glodek-Malone Funeral Home on 7800 Bass Lake Rd., New Hope with Pastor James Nash officiating. Visitation will be held 1-hour prior to the service. Lunch will follow at the funeral home.
Private inurnment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
