Mary grew up in Southeast Minneapolis and graduated from Marshall High School in 1968. She did some coursework at the University of Minnesota and later graduated at the top of her class with a degree in electronics from the Northwestern Electronics Institute in 1986. She spent most of her working years as a devoted stay-at-home mom, and later, as her children grew up, transitioned to dedicating a large amount of her time to volunteer work through her church, where she formed many lasting friendships.
Mary will be remembered for her ability to keep a great conversation going for hours and be a compassionate listener who could make close family and total strangers alike feel heard.
She loved to spend time with her family and travel, as well as spend time up North at the family cabin and explore the country in the RV with her husband, Michael.
