Growing up I remember the family holiday celebrations like Christmas, Thanksgivings, and birthday celebrations as we shared a meal and happy times together through the years with the Harms relatives...such a wonderful heritage. 

In my mind, Sonny and Millie were inseparable... I loved being in their presence. They made  one happy to be with them. Sonny with his wonderful humor and Millie with her kind and loving ways.  I was inspired by their love when they entered the care center together, as their journey continued side by side. After Uncle Sonny’s death Millie was so brave to carry on. Difficult as it was, she made best of it. She loved without reserve and it was inclusive. She had the most beautiful smile and eyes. By all the wonderful photos that covered her walls at the care center, you knew that her family was the light of her life. 

Millie will be deeply missed and I look forward to the day when Jesus makes all things new and families are fully restored and reunited throughout eternity. Imagine, no more pain, sickness, sadness or death! The reunion will be sweet and out of this world!

My last picture and treasured visit with Millie was when Joyce and I went to visit St. Therese and I couldn’t find her in her room.  I went in search of her, only to find her enjoying getting her hair done!

This woman was as close to a saint as any person I know. She is so loved. She is just so sweet. Didnt drink, smoke, cuss, gossip. She was even cute when she got flustered. She always has a smile  for me.  She welcomed my family into hers when Jack and I married; as if we had always been a part of the family. In her older age, she would shop at thrift stores so when someone came to visit, she would have something to give them. At the nursing home she would win stuffed animals at bingo and she gave them to her visiting grand kids. Who were mostly adults at that point. She loved giving presents.  And she always had lots to give away lol, including her love and her smiles.  Everyone adored her. 

Jack had fond memories of his girls with Millie. He said what a cool grandma she was when they were little and at the cabin. She always had crafts and projects ready for them to do when they visited. 

I never felt like an outsider, just loved and accepted and appreciated for making Jack happy. She loved seeing family and always wanted all the grandkids to visit her. She would be disappointed when Jack and I visited and we didn't have the kids with us. Even at the nursing home, she would ask about them and would want to know what they were all up to. I always thought Fred was more of a father figure to me as an adult than my own step father. I was truly blessed to have them both in my life.

 Jacks father passed about 6 years ago and Millie was lost without him. They are together again. Perhaps even fishing together.  And I am happy for her for that. But my heart is breaking at the thought of her leaving us. But she is at a far better place and I am happy for that. We will see you Millie, when it's our time to join you. I love you.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of your precious mother.  Praying for your families during this difficult time.  I'm deeply saddened by her loss.  Aunt Millie was a very loving, caring and special person.  I have wonderful memories of her.  She will be missed by everyone who loved her.  💕

Hi, I’m my grandma Millie’s girl, Ellen. To my grandma, wow I have so many memories with you. We always did crafts and you taught me to be a UNO pro! We also went to different camping spots. You were always there for me when I needed you, always there for me when I had mental health issues, would stay on the phone all day with me, even all night (poor you, sorry grandma).  You would take me to GoodWill and let me pick whatever I want. You and grandpa came to the hospital to meet our newborn babies, even our last baby Kevin Jr. No one showed up, but you and grandpa did.  Thank you❣️ 

You took me to doll events and you were always excited to show me your new dolls when I came over.  You gave me a lot of precious dolls for every birthday because you knew I collected them. 

When I was sick and refused to eat anything, I couldn’t help but give in when you made spaghetti with lots of cheese, served me orange juice with dill pickle juice. I ended up eating and drinking all of it. Grandma knows best ❣️❣️
I have so many memories to share, but I’ll cut this short.  
You will always be in my heart forever.  I love you so much and miss you even more.  Rest In Peace grandma❣️🤟🏼🌹🕊


My Grandma Millie was an incredible lady. I will miss her each and every day. She will live on in my heart and my memories. I will think of her anytime I play Uno, find a 66 in the corner of a bingo card, or see anything Shirley Temple. Rest in Peace Grandma! I'm happy you finally know where Grandpa is. Love you forever and always!

Aunt Middie I  have so many great memories  of you celebrating holidays together with you n your family and other gatherings . Coming to your house with my dad and having lunch with you. Hugs to your family.  May you rest in peace. Sending you a virtual hugs and kisses

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred E. Harms III, daughter-in-law Susan, 4 siblings and 2 step siblings.
She is survived by her five children: Peggy Hasledalen (Greg), Gerald (Patty), Fred (Mary), Larry, and Jack (Joy); 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; and one sister Sylvina “Sal” Robertson
