Throughout her life, Pearl's two greatest loves were her family and faith. As the matriarch of her family, Pearl was cherished by eight children, 13 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
One of the ways Pearl expressed her love for her family was through cooking, canning, and baking. Her specialty was baking fresh bread, as well as pies, cakes, cookies, donuts, and caramel rolls.
In addition to cooking and baking, Pearl was an avid and entrepreneurial gardener. Pearl maintained her own greenhouse and sold starter plants she grew out of her home. A skilled seamstress, Pearl also sewed clothing for each of her children when they were young, as well as detailed bridal party gowns.
Always a devout follower of Christ, Pearl was an active member of her church and ministries and an intercessory prayer. Pearl’s final four years were spent in the loving care of the staff at Walker Methodist Care Center in South Minneapolis, where she was fondly known as “Pearlie.” She was known for being a comfort to others having a difficult day, and regularly engaged in activities until two weeks before her passing. She left this life knowing she would soon be in the loving hands of her Lord and Savior.
Pearl is preceded in death by siblings Dick Sander and Joan MacMillan; and grandson Jamie Tramm.
