Robert Paul Orozco of North Minneapolis passed away peacefully on December 25, 2014 in his home with his family by his side, after a courageous battle of over two years with cancer. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Josephine Orozco; his life partner of over 30 years Doret Belgutay; his aunty, Carmen Obrien; and a great-granddaughter, Kiley Orozco. Robert is survived by his children, Christine, Dennis and Dawn Orozco; nine grandchildren, Trisha Orozco, Fawn Morse, James Morse Jr., CheyeAnn Morse, Samantha Orozco, Kevin Orozco, Paul Orozco, Dylan Orozco and Robert Raasch; nine great-grandchildren, Kailynn Morse, Austin Morse, Destiny Matrious, Khaleesi Vessels, Nevaeh Orozco, Landen Orozco, Evan Orozco, Nolyn Orozco and Mason Blackwood; he is further survived by many great friends and relatives.
Robert was an outdoors man, he loved to fish and hunt and anyone who knows Bob knows he loved his guns they were his hobby. He loved going to gun shows and collecting them, he would describe a gun like it was a woman. He was a truck driver most of his life and a good one. He retired from Twinco Romax in the spring of 2013 due to the cancer. Bob knew the roads, if you were lost call him and he’d get you where you needed to go, he was a human GPS. Bob was clean and sober for over thirty years, an AA member and proud of it. He was also a Teamster and a Marine “Once a Marine Always a Marine”. His favorite show was NCIS.
What Bob was most proud of was his children, he loved them unconditionally, he was a great dad, a great friend who had a kind giving heart; willing to help you out any way he could, and he never expected to be reimbursed. He like a great joke, but mostly the kind you would hear from the truckers. Robert will be deeply and truly missed but God called him home to be with the rest of our friends and family. So until we come home to be with him, may he rest in Peace. (And Semper Fi)
Visitation will be Tuesday December 30, 2014, from 9:30-11:30 am at the Kapala Glodek Malone Funeral Home in New Hope (7800 Bass Lake Road) Followed by a procession to Fort Snelling National Cemetery for Interment and Full Military Honors
