Shirley G. Benoit

Benoit, Shirley G. (Smith) Went to be with her Heavenly Father on Mar. 8, 2012. She was born on Apr. 15, 1936 in Windom, MN to Ernest and Anna Ruth Smith. Preceded in death by husbands, Duane Nelson, Edwin Lemke and Jerry Benoit; parents; sister, Naomi Johnson; nephew, Gene Johnson. Survived by siblings, Dave (Peg) Smith, Jan (Jim) Slade, Stanley (Carol) Smith and Darlene (Paul) Brown; many nieces; nephews; great nieces; great nephews; cousins; step-sons; and her very special, dedicated friend Shirley Mooney. Shirley was a very kind and gentle person who loved her family greatly and we loved her back. A devoted wife, caretaker and longtime faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. We know that she is in Heaven singing with the choir of angels and reunited with her loved ones. She will be in our hearts forever. Special thanks to the staff at Jones Harrison, Methodist Hospice, Pastor Klatt and Holy Trinity.
