

Stephen “Steve” Van Tassel, aged 79, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, in New Hope, MN. Born on March 30, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN, Steve was known for his quick wit, friendly demeanor, and adventurous spirit.
Steve grew up in Minneapolis, where he attended North High School. After graduating, he embarked on a career that would span decades as a skilled lithographer. He was also deeply committed to his colleagues, serving as Secretary/Treasurer for the Upper Midwest Graphic Communications Local 1M in St. Paul.
He was an avid sports enthusiast. He found immense pleasure in fishing and camping; tennis and baseball were also among his favorite pastimes. During football season, he could be found cheering on the Minnesota Vikings.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, MaryAnn Van Tassel, his eldest daughter, Deborah Van Tassel, and his beloved granddaughter, Julia Lorenzen. Steve is predeceased by his youngest daughter, Dawn Van Tassel. He leaves behind cherished relatives and close friends in his community.
The family wants to thank the staff who cared for him at Woodlake of New Hope in his last days.
In accordance with his wishes, Steve's life will be commemorated with a celebration of life on June 13th, 2025 from 1-5pm at Kapala Glodek Malone Funeral Home in New Hope, MN.
