Trish Goodchild

Patricia Joyce Goodchild passed away peacefully in her home on January 8th, 2023. Trish, as most people knew her, departed from a life truly lived after 75 years. Trish was born in Minneapolis and lived her whole life in the city and its suburbs. Her intelligence, curiosity, and work ethic propelled her through a remarkable and fulfilling career in the hospitality industry, most notably her more than 20 years as a beloved linchpin at Carlson Companies. Trish’s career brought out the qualities her friends and family will miss most in her – her resilience, creativity, thoughtfulness, and unfailing vitality. All of those she leaves behind know that Trish was an inspiration. She was a talented and accomplished poet, and we are blessed to have her words with us always as we wait to see her again. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, and left her legacy in her family’s traditions and closeness. Perhaps most of all, Trish was an unforgettable force of nature, who would gladly step into any challenge and leave everyone wondering how they would have ever managed without her. Trish was predeceased by her parents, William and Ethel “Rick”, sister Sandra, brother Timothy, and beloved aunt Shirley. She is survived and missed by Jim, her husband of 55 years, her son Jamie, daughter-in-law Shari, brothers Bill and Jeffrey, sisters Elizabeth and Marilynne, granddaughter Brianna, grandson Cody, and granddaughter-in-law Sophia. Trish is also survived by countless friends and colleagues who she treasured throughout her life. There will be a visitation for Trish held on Monday, January 16th from 5 p.m.–8 p.m. at Kapala Glodek Malone Funeral Home at 7800 Bass Lake Rd., New Hope, MN 55428. Trish’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, January 18th at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 1 Lourdes Pl., Minneapolis, MN 55414.
