I always enjoyed a long entertaining conversation with your dad Kristen. Glad i had the opportunity to know him even if for just a few celebrations... Thanks for having me.

Our prayers are with the entire Hannan family.  Lots of funny stories when Billy would travel to Wisconsin and stay out at our family farm.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Bill and his family during this sad time.  Bill was a great partner.  I learned a lot from him that I used during my 32 years with the City.

To Bills family, we wish to express our sympathy for the loss of your Father. Bill was a very loyal friend and great companion.I know he is now with Our Lord and our Brothers that have went before him Rest in Peace Brother.

Thanks for the great memories at DLS (class of '68) and being a friend you could depend on. RIP Bill.

No one enjoyed life more than Bill did, even though his had frequent ups and downs. He loved his kids and grandchildren as much as anyone could. He was particularly proud that his grandson Brandon was starting a law enforcement career. I know from talking to him just days ago, Bill expected to live much longer than he did. I also know that pain was a daily occurrence for him, so we can be thankful he no longer suffers. Religious to the end, I hope he's remembered and rewarded for the many heroic actions he performed while on the MPD. He wasn't perfect, but then none of us are. Rest in peace my friend, even though I'll miss your friendship and your weekly calls. The memories will help keep us going.

I'm profoundly saddened and shocked at the passing of my long time friend Bill.   I'm going to miss our BS sessions.

Bill was my friend growing up. Bill, his brother Mike, Johnny Gutowski, and I spent many hours of fun in the neighborhood together. I even remember the little drinking fountain on the side of the house when we played in his back yard. After we grew older both Bill and I became Minneapolis Police Officers at the same time giving us 16 weeks to get to know each other again during our police training in "Rookie School".  Bill became a fine officer. I will never forget Billy. May he rest in peace. My heart goes out to all of his loved ones.
