Alexis Touchet

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Alexis Touchet, age 80, at 11:00 am Friday June 18, 2010 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church with Fr. Barry Crochet officiating. Interment will follow at the church mausoleum with military honors by VFW Post #1982.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native of Youngsville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Touchet passed away at 9:45 pm on Wednesday June 16, 2010 at New Iberia Manor North.

Mr. Touchet was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and VFW. He loved hunting, crawfishing, and horse racing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lizzie Belle Romero Touchet of Coteau; daughter, Sandy T. Bonin and husband Albin “AJ” of Coteau; grandchildren, Stacey Darby and husband Chris and Scotty Bonin; great grandchild, Kayla Darby; step-great grandchildren, Katrina Kilgore and Kallam Darby; step-great great grandchildren, Laurie Williamson, Adyson Kilgore, Gabriel Darby, and Zoe Darby; brothers, Albert Touchet of New Iberia and Oday Touchet of Youngsville; sister, Amanthe Bertrand of Erath, and numerous step-brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oday and Ava Moreaux Touchet; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Bonin, Chris Darby, Kit Bourque, W. L. Davis, Chris Bourque, and Kallam Darby.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jud Kilgore and Roger Bonin.
