Private services were held for Alvin Barilleaux, age 82, who died at his residence on Tuesday, July 2, 2013.
A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Alvin was born on December 17, 1930. He served in the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean War.
Survivors include his children, Ronald Barilleaux and wife Sheila, Laurie Hebert and husband Rory, Linda Guillory and husband Jimmy all of New Iberia, and Eric Barilleaux and fiancé Pamela Myers of St. Martinville; seven grandchildren, Brooke Richard, Misti Alvarez, Seth Hebert, Jimmy Guillory Jr., Ryan Guillory, Cy Barilleaux, and Alexis Barilleaux; two step-grandchildren, Quentin Hebert and Dana Kibodeaux; fourteen great grandchildren; and companion, Earline Delcambre.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Alvin Barilleaux, parents, Dosilva and Aurlie Lacamus Barilleaux; three brothers, Sullie Barilleaux, Ulysses Barilleaux, and Evans Bonin; and three sisters, Yola Bonin Babin, Levie Bonin Bonin, and Yvonne Barilleaux Romero.

To Mr. Al's family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Mr. Al as a friend of my dads. I remember him to be such a sweet man and so friendly. He will be missed by many. My thought and prayers are with you all at this most sorrowful time.
