Barbara Jo McGee Ackal

NEW IBERIA – a Memorial Mass will be conducted for Barbara Jo McGee Ackal, age 67, at 11:00 am Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 am. Fr. Mike Guidry will serve as the celebrant for the service. Inurnment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Ackal passed away at 7:08 am on Friday, November 15, 2013 at her residence.

Barbara was a very loving person who cherished family gatherings while always providing cheer and laughter for everyone and was always available for anyone in need.

She is survived by her son, Charles Keith Myers of New Iberia; two granddaughters, Falon Alford and Brandy Lynn Myers and one great granddaughter, Lyla Alford; one sister, Carolyn Barrilleau of Charenton. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and her special loving pet, “Dora”.

Special thanks are extended to Marilyn Derise and Kathy Boudreaux who provided special love and care during Barbara Jo’s time of need.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Barbara Romero McGee; and two brothers, Richard “Mickey” McGee and Keith Francis McGee.
