Carroll Antoine Frioux, a native of Loreauville, longtime resident of Houston and current resident of New Iberia passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Iberia Medical Center. He was 89.
Carroll was born September 2, 1932 in Loreauville to the late Paul Frioux and the late Anna Bonin Frioux and was one of nine children born to that union. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served his country during the Korean War. Years ago, Carroll left his beloved Loreauville and moved to Houston to begin a career with Montgomery Ward and J C Penney. At his retirement, he was manager of shipping and receiving in his area. After his retirement, he briefly worked with the Houston Chronicle delivering newspapers.
Carroll was a huge sports fan and supported his favorite teams, The Houston Astros and the New Orleans Saints. One of his favorite pastimes was going to the Casino and purchasing Lottery tickets, with hopes of one day winning the big one. He was a man who worked hard to provide for his family and enjoyed the simple things in life. His daughters described him as a “homebody” who was perfectly fine with relaxing and enjoying the company of his family.
Carroll will certainly be missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts and thoughts of all who knew and loved him. Rest well for you have earned your heavenly reward.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Tina Pellerin and husband Byron, Krina Donald and husband Nathan, and Shane Frioux; eight grandchildren, Tara Prados, Brock Pellerin, Erica Coody, Kayla Webb, Annie Mozingo, Allen Frioux, Kirsten Humphrey and Hunter Frioux; eleven great grandchildren, Bella Prados, Ahni Pellerin, Mallory Coody, Noah Coody, Ellyson Webb, Emmett Webb, Davis Webb, Riggins Mozingo, John Tyce Humphrey, Mallie Humphrey and Karson Frioux; and his sisters and brother, Mae Bella Thibodeaux, Richard Frioux and Mary Jane Dye.
