Catherine Dupree Dupree Alexander

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Milton Alexander, Sr., the former Catherine Dupree, age 64, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 10:00 am Friday September 16, 2016 with Fr. Bill P. Melancon officiating. Interment will follow at St. Edwards Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary by the Lay Carmelites at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Alexander passed away at 10:39 pm on Monday, September 12, 2016 at her residence.

Catherine was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and Lay Carmelite of the 3rd order. She was the Assistant manager of Golden Coral in New Iberia and currently worked as a cafeteria worker at Catholic High School. Her passion was cooking. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her one daughter, Sharon Alexander Joseph of New Iberia; Milton Charles Alexander, Jr and wife Kelneisha of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Zaiden Alexander, Xavier Alexander, Stephanie Joseph, and Charles Joseph; five sisters; Lisa Marie Dupree and Jeannie Dupree Henry of New Iberia; Carla Dupree of Lafayette; Brenda Dupree of California and Debra Dupree Woods and husband Gary Sr. of Lake Charles; two brothers, Gerald Dupree, Sr. and wife Mary and Willie Dupree, III and wife Winnie all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Alexander, Sr.; parents, Willie J. Dupree, Jr. and Anna Mae Brooks Dupree and one brother, Steven J. Dupree, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Gerald Dupree, Jr.; Willie Dupree, III; Eric Dupree; Gary Woods, Sr.; Albert Lee Hill’ and Derrick Dupree.
