

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services celebrating the life of Celeste Gaspard Suire will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Pastor Randy Dugas of Our Saviors Church will officiate. Mrs. Suire will be laid to rest with her husband at Memorial Park Cemetery immediately after services.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of services.
Celeste was born July 18, 1926 in Erath to the late Francois Gaspard and Olivia Touchet Gaspard, and passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27, 2017 with her family at her side. She was 91.
Celeste spent most of her 91 beautiful years on this earth caring for her family. Her absolute love was being around them, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren that she often cared for. She enjoyed the many trips she took with them and cherished those memories. It didn’t matter how they were traveling, she was ready. One of her favorite trips was driving across country to California for a family gathering. Some of her pastimes included sewing, and cooking meals for all to enjoy. Her kind heart and beautiful smile will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughter, Rosemary Suire Ronsonet and husband William of Lydia; her grandchildren, Danielle Bounyaseng and husband Viengsamone, Shane Suire and wife Wendy, Seth Ronsonet and Sadie Ronsonet; five great grandchildren whom she adored, Angelina Bounyaseng, Dremone Bounyaseng, Amelia Gounyaseng, Haven Bounyaseng and Addison Ronsonet; her sisters, Agnes Bourque and Anna Mae Gaspard of New Iberia, Lilly Lamperez of Broussard; and her brothers, Alex Gaspard of Denham Springs and Lovelace Gaspard and wife Adelle of Coteau.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Suire; a son and daughter, Wilson Suire and Marie Suire; and brother, Minos Gaspard.
Serving as pallbearers are Shane Suire, Viengsamone Bounyaseng, Dremone Bounyaseng, Seth Ronsonet, Bradley Somsy and William Ronsonet. Haven Bounyaseng will serve as honoray pallbearer.
