Mr. Ceser "Butch" Joseph Romero Jr.

NEW IBERIA – A Funeral Service will be conducted for Ceser Joseph “Butch” Romero, Jr., age 71, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Pastor Ryan DeRouen of Church on the Rock will officiate. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wednesday at Evangeline Funeral Home from 10:00 am until service time.

Mr. Romero passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 16, 2021 a7 12:47 am.

Butch was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was musically inclined, and enjoyed playing the guitar, piano and keyboard. Mr. Romero was employed in the oilfield industry for many years, traveling and living abroad.

Butch is survived by his wife of 41 years, Ruby Sonnier Romero of Coteau; two sons, Jarrod Romero and wife Misti of Youngsville; Corey Pitman and wife Tonya of Dayton, TX; two daughters, Tanya Romero of Coteau and Tennille Romero of Opelousas; thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ceser Joseph and Anita Touchet Romero, Sr.; one son, Ceser Joseph Romero, III; one brother, Douglas Delahoussaye and one sister, Bernice Bellot.

Pallbearers will be Jarrod Romero, Corey Pitman, Tommy DeRouen, Rocky Boutte, Ernest Moreland and Mario Martin.
