NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Cheryl Ann Miguez will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 1, 2019 at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Fr. Ed Degeyter will be the celebrant. Cheryl will be laid to rest at Holy Family Mausoleum following the Mass.

Mrs. Miguez was born August 22, 1956 in New Iberia to the late Aldez Miguez Sr. and the late Anna Mae Morvant Miguez and was one of 12 children. She passed away Saturday January 26, 2019 at the age of 62.

Cheryl was known by all for her genuine spirit, kind heart, and a smile that would light up the room when she walked in. She never met a stranger, and befriended all she came across. She enjoyed several pastimes including riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, riding and breaking horses, taking care of the many plants around the house, and dancing to her favorite music. The adventurous side of Cheryl brought her to many wonderful destinations throughout the United States and abroad. Above all, Cheryl placed her family first and cherished the time spent with them. She will dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Derik Paul Thibodeaux (Ania) of Mansfield, United Kingdom and Daniel Louis Thibodeaux of New Iberia; her step-children, Sadie Renee Thibodeaux (Nick), Scotty Thibodeaux (Tonya); five grandchildren, Logan and Amelia Thibodeaux, Liam Thibodeaux, and LeAnna and Leland Bonin; her brothers and sisters, Eugene Migues, Aldez Migues (Debbie), Madeline Monceaux, Brenda Romero (Milton), Wanita Ransonet (Cliff), Dolores Thibodeaux (Kenneth), Judy Migues and Charlene Prejean (Jason); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Kenny Bell; her 2nd husband, Dalton Louis Thibodeaux; her brothers and sister, Edmond and Minos Migues and Vernice Delahoussaye; and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Will Monceaux, J.C. Romero, Vernick Delahoussaye, Dot Migues, Connie Migues and Dot Migues.

Serving as pallbearers are her sons, Derik and Daniel Thibodeaux, Christian Migues, Dalyan Marks, Kasey Thibodeaux, Shane Ransonet, Brandon Migues and Brad Prioux. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons Liam and Logan Thibodeaux, her brother Aldez Migues and Codey Migues.
