Colleen and I met when she was working for the New Iberia police department, then Cate and my oldest daughter Holly played softball together, then Lucas played football with my son Micky. Then Kimmy and her friend Winnie Bell saved my life when I had complications from a surgery. Colleen was a beautiful and kind soul and she taught each and everyone of her children to have beautiful and kind souls, I know this by the way they all treated my family. I know that her children will miss her deeply. The world has truly lost a wonderful lady. Rest In Peace Colleen you deserve it.

Colleen and I went to school together. We were very close friends when Kimmy and Cate were born. My brother is Kimmy’s Godfather. I remember when Colleen brought Grandma’s tuna sandwich for school lunch, I would trade my lunch money for Grandma’s tuna. Colleen and I were always looking for adventures. We took the train to NY a couple of times. We went to Palisades Amusement Park in NJ. We had lots of good times. We lost touch when we both moved away. I just found Colleen again on Facebook. It is too soon to lose someone we love so much. May you Rest In Peace my dear friend Colleen.

I remember when we were young my sister wanted to go horseback riding with me. Now my sister didn't ride horses. I was the horse person. So I tacked up one horse and I got on the back of the horse with her reining the horse. Back in her late teen early 20s Colleen wore her hair up in a beehive bun. Well she took the horse up a hill and through an opening. When we entered the opening her hair got caught by a branch and lifted her off the horse. I laughed till I cried as she ripped her pants too. Gonna miss my big sister. Rest with the family in Heaven. Love you. Hugs family.

Those we love don’t go away they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near so loved, so missed, so very dear.
I wasn’t the author of these words, but it is my belief. Colleen was a very loving , and generous lady and we are all blessed for having known her.
The Derouens send our most sincere, deepest sympathy .
Miss you Kim

It is with great sadness that I learned of Colleen's passing today, she and I worked with the New Iberia Police Detective Division and she was always an inspiration to those who worked with her. Colleen loved everyone, especially her devoted children and friend's she was acquainted with. My prayers of condolences and sympathy go out to all of Colleen's family, she is in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father and she will suffer no more!

Your family has my deepest sympathy......I was so sorry to hear of her passing.....we knew her for many years...she was always friendly and also a very dedicated member of our Police Department...she was a local hero to July 1994 a good family friend ( Warren C Segura) got shot and was left on the street to die Officer Colleen Temple was the first Police person on the terrible scene and knelt down helping him breathe until an ambulance arrived...well by some miracle he made it and is 49 years old now you know we all thought so much of her....your family will be in my thoughts and prayers always...
