Craig James Derouen

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Craig Derouen, age 51, at 2:30 pm Monday, June 25, 2012 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will be follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Derouen passed away at 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his sister’s residence in Delcambre.

Craig had a love of horses, cooking, keeping his yard and flowers, camping and fishing. He was always known to be very comical and always the life of the party. Allie, the love of his life, was Craig’s companion and will always be with him.

He is survived by his sisters; Kathleen Derouen Latiolais and companion Chris Meche, Connie Delahoussaye Delcambre, Ashley Blanchard and companion Randy Toups, nieces; Dena Standridge and companion Mark Dupui, Sr., Brandi Delcambre, nephew; Brandon Delcambre, four great-nephews, one great-niece, one great, great niece and two Godchildren; Dena and Ella Grace.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Larry Derouen, Anna Mae Badeaux Blanchard, stepfather; Lloyd John Blanchard; nephew, Brian J. DeBlanc, brothers; Adam Smith, Jr., Wilton Smith and brother-in-law; Tony Latiolais.

Pallbearers will be Randy Toups, Brandon Delcambre, Tyten DeBlanc, Jessie Badeaux, Chris Meche and Mark Dupui, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dena Standridge, Danny LeBlanc, Trenton DeBlanc, Jared Standridge, Jeremy Standridge, Jr. and Brandi Delcambre.
