

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Curtis Joseph Touchet, born on February 14, 1956, in Lafayette, LA, to the late Cyrus and Mary Peltier Touchet. He passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2025, at his residence at the age of 69.
Curtis, affectionately known as “Jap” was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent many years as a plumber with the Town of Erath, where his commitment and craftsmanship were known to all who worked with him. He was proud of his work and took great care in everything he did, making a lasting impact in his community.
Outside of his professional life, Curtis enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He found joy in spending time outdoors, whether it was working on his woodworking projects or indulging in his passion for rooster fighting. His love for nature and his skills with his hands were just a few of the ways he embraced life with enthusiasm.
Curtis was a loving family member and friend. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for the outdoors, and his kind heart. He leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to bring comfort to those who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Boudreaux Touchet; one brother, Saul Touchet; two sisters, Alida Touchet and Amy Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held in his honor at a later date.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Carol Touchet and Calvin Touchet.
