Dennis Antoine Leleux

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Dennis Antoine Leleux, age 94, at 10:00 am Monday, October 3, 2011 at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with Fr. Gene Treme officiating. Interment will be held at St. Marcellus Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Monday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Leleux passed away at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 30, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Leleux was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, trapping and tending to his cattle. He was also a gunsmith. Mr. Leleux served on the Board of Comm. for the Petite-Anse Coteau Drainage District and was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, council 1208. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his wife Mildred Hebert Leleux, sons; Malcolm and wife Lois Leleux of Erath, Theodore “Teddy” and wife Nelies of New Iberia, William “Billy” and wife JoAnn of New Iberia; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Foustina Leleux, siblings; Dewey Leleux, Lilly Delcambre, Lulia Lasalle, Durice Leleux, Sr. and daughters in law Loretta Bourque and Laura Fox Leleux.

Pallbearers will be Kerry Leleux, Scott Leleux, Woody Leleux, Skip Leleux, Craig Leleux and Zack Leleux.
