A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Born on August 28, 1937, in Iberia Parish, Donald was the only son of the late Julius LeBlanc and Mathilde Labit LeBlanc and passed away peacefully July 2, 2026 at his residence. He was 88.
Donald proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1958, a time in his life that he always held with great pride. Following his military service, he continued his dedication to protecting others as a firefighter with the New Iberia Fire
Department, faithfully serving his community for many years until his retirement.
Known by many as a true cowboy, Donald had a lifelong passion for horses. He spent countless hours raising and training racehorses, with many competing at racetracks throughout Louisiana. His adventurous spirit also led him to the rodeo arena as a bull rider, where he embraced the excitement and camaraderie of the cowboy way of life. His love for animals extended beyond horses as he took great pride in breeding and raising Catahoula hounds.
Donald, may your soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory include his children, Dean LeBlanc (Robin), Brenda Broussard (Chris), Diana Gary, Holly Nereaux, and Ted LeBlanc; his grandchildren, Brad Migues, Micheal LeBlanc, Avery Nereaux, and Derrick LeBlanc; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and dear friends.
The LeBlanc family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
