Born on August 18, 1934, in Youngsville, Louisiana, to the late Gustave and Marie Eudea Gary Romero and was one of twelve children. Elmo was known for his strong work ethic, and deep faith. He began his career as a television repairman and automobile mechanic, skills that reflected his talent for fixing almost anything. Through hard work and determination, he later became the owner and operator of Romero's Firestone, New Iberia Discount Tires and was a car salesman for Transmark, where he built lasting relationships with customers and earned the respect of his community.
Outside of work, Elmo enjoyed many simple pleasures. He loved visiting the casino, playing bourrée, dancing, and watching wrestling on television. Whether at a card table, on the dance floor, or cheering on his favorite wrestling personalities from his living room, Elmo brought enthusiasm and joy to the things he loved.
Above all, Elmo was a man of deep and abiding faith. He was especially devoted to praying the Rosary, a practice that remained an important part of his daily life and provided him with strength, comfort, and guidance throughout the years.
May he rest in eternal peace.
Those left to cherish his memory are his five children, Linda C.
