Gayle Ann Porter

A free spirit who loved adventure, whether it was getting in touch with distant cousins in small town Louisiana or enjoying life with new friends in Costa Rica or Mexico. Even though exploring and traveling were her first love, and entertaining friends at home her second love, she never hesitated to drop everything to take care of a sick family member or friend. Over the years she had been the family nurse, gypsy, sister, friend, and crazy loving aunt that everyone enjoyed.

Gayle is survived by her sisters and brother, Tricia Fletcher and husband Tuffy of Katy, TX, Teb Porter, Jr. and wife Betsy of New Iberia, Peggy Weiss and husband Ron of Austin, TX, and Bay Ortloff and husband Tommy of Midland, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry T. “Teb” Porter, Sr. and Julaine Roane Porter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gayle’s name to Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion St., Lafayette, LA 70501.
