

NEW IBERIA – Funeral services will be celebrated for Geraldine LeBlanc Terry at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Bill John Melancon will officiate. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia on Sunday from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
Geraldine LeBlanc Terry was born September 30, 1941 in Iberia Parish to the late Wickliff LeBlanc and Martha Romero LeBlanc, and passed away peacefully Thursday July 20, 2017 at Maison Teche Nursing Home. She was 75.
Geraldine was retired from the Iberia Parish School Board with over 25 years of service and worked in the cafeteria. After her retirement, she worked with the Daily Iberian as a carrier. Geraldine was known by many as the “Christmas Lady” or the “Hot Tamale Lady” because of her love of decorating for Christmas and collecting Santa Clause figurines, and for the delicious homemade hot tamales she made and sold. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband Earnest Terry of Jeanerette; her children, Tina Pellerin (Byron) of New Iberia, Krina “Mimi” Nathan (Donald) of Gilbertown, AL, and Shane Frioux of Chatom, AL; her grandchildren, Tara Prados, Brock Pellerin, Erica Coody, Kayla Webb, Annie Mozingo, Allen Frioux, Kirsten Frioux, Hunter Frioux, Grant Kelley, Ryan Terry, Brittany Dames and Travis Terry; 11 great grandchildren, Bella, Ahni, Mallory, Noah, Channing, Elly Kate, Karson, John Tyce, Chloe, Nathan, Joanna and one on the way; and her sisters and brother, Delores “Chut” Evans and Sandra Burrell both of Chatom , AL, and Jeckel LeBlanc (Stephanie) of New Iberia.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Danny Terry; son-in-law, Ricky Kelley; daughter-in-law Theresa Frioux; sister, Judy Pellerin; and brothers, Percy LeBlanc, Dunis LeBlanc and Emile (Nicky) LeBlanc.
The family would like to extend the heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Maison Teche Nursing Home and Bridgeway Healthcare and Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Geraldine.
