New Iberia: Funeral services for Gladys “Pat” Heard, 81, will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church located at St. Peter and Jefferson Street in New Iberia with Rev. Scott Bullock officiating.

Burial will be at Nativity of Our Lady Mausoleum in New Iberia, under the direction of Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Evangeline Funeral Home in New Iberia and will resume on Thursday at 8:00 AM until the time of her services.

Pat Heard died at 5:45 PM Tuesday, December 21st at her home in Jennings, LA.

She was born in Claude, Texas to the late Hubert F. and Martha L. Johnson in June of 1929. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to the care of her children and husband. She was an avid golfer and a member of the Ladies Golf Association. Pat was also very talented with her hands. She loved making baby blankets, doing needle work, and making table cloths. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Pat was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Fredy Robinson and wife Dionne and Steven Robinson and wife Darlene all of New Iberia; 3 daughters, Kay Shushan and husband Buddy of New Orleans, Paula Heard Higginbotham and husband Robert of Lafayette, and Debbie Heard Sittig and husband Jude of Iota; and her 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Martha; husband William “Bill” Heard; son Larry Robinson; and 3 brothers.

Pallbearers will include her 2 sons, Fredy and Steven; and 4 grandsons, William, Christopher, Jeremy, and Fredy Mack.
