Gloria was born on February 11, 1938, in rural Iberia Parish to the late Leonce and Lillian Guidry Boudreaux. She was 88 years old at the time of her passing.
Gloria will be forever remembered for her nightly ritual of “locking down the house.” While she faithfully secured every door and window, she also locked down the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her unwavering love, care, and devotion left a lasting impression on her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends.
A dedicated and hardworking woman, Gloria began her professional career as a bank teller with New Iberia National Bank, where she faithfully served for 17 years. She later continued her career with the Iberia Parish School Board before concluding her successful working years with CLECO, where she served for seven years.
Gloria cherished spending time with family and friends and never missed an opportunity to visit and share in the lives of those she loved. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and creating lasting memories with those around her. Her warm smile, welcoming spirit, and genuine interest in others made her a treasured presence in every gathering.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Gloria was a devout member of Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church, where she actively participated in the life of the parish. She was a faithful member of a rosary group that met every Tuesday and was also a dedicated member of both the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies Altar Society.
Gloria's legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that she now rests peacefully in the presence of the Lord.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
