Grace Viator Dore

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mrs. Davey Lee Dore’, the former Grace Viator, age 83, at 11:00 am Saturday, August 5, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Downs officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 am on Saturday until 10:30 am.

A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Dore’ passed away at 5:25 pm on Friday, July 28, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Dore’ was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and First Baptist Church. She was an active member of New Iberia’s Handicapped Reserve Officers from 1996-2001. She and other volunteers set out to insure that no unauthorized person parked in spots that were reserved for the physically handicapped. When she wasn’t volunteering she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Grace will be missed dearly by her family, friends and members of her church parish.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Davey Lee Dore of New Iberia; two daughters, Lottie D. Stevenson and husband Greg of Green River, Wyoming and Sissy D. Langston of Prairieville; nine grandchildren, Ronnie Pene’; Josh Beck; Larry Stevenson; Wendi Bishop; Rachel Stevenson; Cody Stevenson; Caleb Stevenson; Ashley Guy and Erin Langston; seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and two sisters, Nancy V. Verret and Joyce V. Ackal both of New Iberia and her son in law, Mike Beck of Satsuma, LA.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Becky D. Beck; parents, Tilden and Rose Langlinais Viator and one brother, Glenn Viator.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Pene’, Josh Beck, Larry Stevenson, Cody Stevenson, Caleb Stevenson and Michael Ackal. Micah Pene’, Trevor Pene’, Paul Verette, Greg Stevenson and Ron Vantil will serve as honorary pallbearers.
