Jeckell was born May 24, 1945 in Iberia Parish to the late Wickliff LeBlanc and the late Martha Romero LeBlanc and was one of eight children.
He worked with Ciba Chemical Plant and retired with 42 years of faithful service. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement and traveled extensively throughout the United States and Nova Scotia. Jeckell was also a huge fan of the PGA and attended some of the most famous golf tournaments. One of the most memorable was going to the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Ponta Verdra Beach, FL and watching the pros hit to the famous 17th island green. His other pastime was doing things with his hands. He enjoyed doing home repairs and remodeling around his house and anything else needed. Jeckell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie St. Germain LeBlanc; his children, Felicia LeBlanc, George P. LeBlanc, Jason J. LeBlanc and John D. LeBlanc; his step-son, Jordan Hebert; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his sisters, Delores “Chut” Evans and Sandra Burrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of first marriage, Beverly Day LeBlanc; and his sisters and brothers, Geraldine LeBlanc Terry, Judy LeBlanc Pellerin, Percy LeBlanc, Dunis LeBlanc and Emile “Nicky” LeBlanc.
In keeping with Jeckell’s wishes, private services were held at Holy Family Mausoleum Thursday, August 23, 2018.
Memorial contributions may be made in Jeckell’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
