Jenny Marie Thibodeaux Gibbons age 67 of Jeanerette, La passed away Friday, Oct. 23. 2020. Jenny was born January 17, 1953 to Florence “Flo” Marie Broussard Thibodeaux and J.C Thibodeaux of New Iberia. She was the beloved sister to Kathy Hulin-Landry, Angela Simon and Phyllis Duhon. She was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High in 1971, where she served a co-captain of the Jackettes

Jenny’s memory will be carried in the heart of her loving husband of 48 years, Mr. Cletus Preston Gibbons, their son Coby Gibbons and wife Sheryl of Youngsville and their daughter Kellie Broussard and Husband Dave of Broussard. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of her three grandchildren: Zachary Preston Gibbons, Jayden Paul Broussard, and Lauren Elizabeth Broussard.

Jenny was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother (Nanna), sister, and friend. She was godmother to many and earned her title of Nanny to many nieces and nephews. Jenny was a caretaker at heart and she took care of everyone who was lucky enough to be loved by her. Her presence and baked goods will be missed. Jenny was a little league softball coach. She loved watching and cheering on her children and now grandchildren compete in various sporting events. She went to all their football, volleyball, and cheering events, and she attended cattle shows and rodeos near and far to support her greatest treasures. In her spare time, Jenny reunited with friends and was part of one of the longest running Pokeno groups in town. She loved her family with her whole heart. Heaven truly gained an angel.

She is preceded in Death by her parents Florence “Flo” Broussard and J.C. Thibodeaux, her in-laws; Jackie Preston Gibbons and Pauline Bray Gibbons, her sister Phyllis Duhon, and her dear friend Cynthia Champagne.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Fr. Alexander Albert will officiate. Interment will follow at Beau Pre’ Memorial Park.

Dear Kathy, Angela, and Cletus and family,
God bless and comfort your family in this tough time.
Like everyone else, I was so saddened to hear of Jenny's sudden death. I haven't seen her since the late 1960's, so there was some comfort viewing her life through the pictures on this site. I was so happy to see that through the years she had a full measure of joy, and love in her life. It was a life filled with family, friends, and good times. She was blessed and she was a blessing.
I'm thankful she touched my life even so many years ago. I've never forgotten her.

You lived a good life, sharing your light, Jenny.
Well done!
Rest in peace.

Love,
Drusilla

Cletus, Paula and Jackie
I’m so sad and devastated as my heart is heavy and bleeds for you with the passing of a wonderful, caring. sweet, kind and always smiling and happy friend. When I close my eyes I can still see that big smile on her face as she always knew how to comfort someone and make them feel good. Cletus we’ve had so many memorable and good times together through the years growing up and raising our families together. We were family and still are as Jenny will always be with us as she now lives in our hearts, minds and memories that we cherish. I truly loved and admired her for many things as she is one of the best people and friends that I have ever been fortunate to know and be around. I’ve never heard an unkind word from anyone about Jenny as she was truly loved by all. If you knew her you couldn’t help but like and love her. God bless each of you in the days ahead and join me in the celebration of her life by keeping her in our thoughts and conversations. Love you all

Our thoughts and prayers for Jenny and her family. I will miss my Pokeno friend! It’s hard to believe that just three days before she left us, we were playing Pokeno and enjoyed her company and laughter. Jenny was so kind and caring. I’m sure she was welcomed into heaven by her dear friend and ours, Cynthia! God bless everyone! Love and prayers, Vicky and Johnny Bonin

Sis, I've been trying to put into words what you have meant to me. Its so hard to write with so little space. I could write a book. You have been a sister, a God mother, a mother figure, a confidant, a friend and a huge support system all my life. There wasn't ever a moment you didn't cheer me on. You always had our best intentions on your list of priorities. Im going to miss you dearly. I have a huge hole in my heart. We will take care of Cletus and the kids, but it will be hard filling those shoes you left behind. May you RIP with eternal love, till we reunite again.
