Jessie James Hulin, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a family who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
Born on July 23, 1949, in Youngsville, LA to the late Nolan and Pearl Romero Hulin.
Jessie proudly served his country honorably in the United States Navy. After his military service, he began his career as a young man in the oilfield industry, where he worked hard and built a life defined by dedication and perseverance. He later worked alongside his brother at Hulin Super Shell in New Iberia and eventually became the owner and operator of the business. Through the years, Jessie was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to help others.
Outside of work, Jessie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time outdoors, bird watching—especially watching the hummingbirds that brought him so much enjoyment—fishing, and camping. His family will always remember him relaxing at home and watching football on television, enjoying the game and the comfort of being surrounded by the things he loved.
Above all else, Jessie’s greatest love was his family. He treasured every opportunity to spend time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings. The memories made during family gatherings, conversations, and ordinary days together will be among the greatest gifts he leaves behind.
Those left behind to treasure his memory are his daughter, Tessie Hulin Narulski (Niki Ray); his grandchildren, Toby James Hulin, Cassie Lyn Maturin (Cain) and Callie Nicole Narulski; great grandchildren, Charlotte Rose Sandoz, Cruize Michael Maturin and Cohen Matthew Maturin; two sisters, Nadine Delaune and Raylene Madine and two brothers, Naray Hulin (Tracy) and Ray Hulin (June).
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Robicheaux Hulin; one son, Corey James Hulin; two sisters, Judy Braud and Cheryl Watson and his longtime best friend, Larry Segura.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Evangeline Funeral Home. Pastor Gabe Smith of Our Savior’s Church-Broussard will officiate. Jessie will be laid to rest alongside his wife at Holy Family Mausoleum with full military honors by Acadiana Veteran’s Honor Guard.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Naray Hulin, Ray Hulin, Niki Ray Narulski, Kasey Robicheaux, Cain Maturin and Gail Segura.
