A resident of New Iberia, LA, Josh was born on February 8, 1996, to Mark Jude and Patrice Landry LeBlanc. He passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, in Walker County, Alabama at the age of 29.
He graduated from Catholic High School in 2014 and went on to earn a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Louisiana. His intellect, determination, and work ethic led him to a career with NASA, where he first worked in New Orleans and most recently in Huntsville, Alabama.
Josh had a deep love for the outdoors and found joy in camping with his beloved dog, Odin, always by his side. Born with a quick wit, a kind heart, and an infectious smile, Josh was truly the life of the party. Literally dressing in full pirate costume, proudly singing shanties with friends. As a fan of music, he often spent time playing the guitar or planning the next concert to attend. Stargazing through his telescope was a favorite pastime, loving anything related to the stars and space.
Josh cherished family time deeply, especially their trips to the beach, where laughter and memories came easily. And above all he enjoyed gaming, working out to his favorite music, traveling, finding good New York Style pizza, cooking, Blackjack, talking around the fire pit, and having a drink and a laugh with those he loved.
Having moved to Chalmette, and eventually Huntsville, Josh held his friends close by keeping touch with a near daily presence in online communities consisting of friends and family, where they would spend the evenings either gaming, deep in conversation, or sharing comfortable silence. He will forever be a Flying Clam and the heart of the Doop Troop.
Hardworking, funny, and fiercely loyal, Josh leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and excellence. He will be missed beyond words and remembered forever by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his loving parents, Mark and Patrice Landry LeBlanc; one brother, Dylan LeBlanc and fiancé Meghan Robicheaux; maternal grandparents, Lynn and Suzanne Delcambre Landry, Godfather Teddy LeBlanc; Godmother Daina Fox and husband Michel; uncle, David Landry and wife Mary; uncle Patrick Landry and wife Debbie; uncle, Carl LeBlanc and wife Jan, and numerous cousins.
Joshua is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Theodore A. and Yola Blanchard LeBlanc; aunt, Lisa Landry; uncle, Kyle Landry.
