Joyce was born November 21, 1928 in Port Arthur, Texas to the late Claude Plessala and the late Pamela Blanchard Plessala, and passed away peacefully Tuesday July 25, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Joyce was the epitome of the title Mother. She had a love for family that was greater than anything else in her life. No matter the day or time, her life was great if she was with her family. Joyce also loved to dance and taught her children as well. It didn’t matter if it was at the dance hall, in her kitchen, or on the patio, she had a good time. One of her other pastimes was sewing. Joyce also was a member of the VFW Post 1982 Auxiliary. All who knew Mrs. Joyce, witnessed her beauty that radiated from within and left her with a beautiful glow. She was a kind soul and special angel to many here on earth and although she will be sadly missed, she will now be a special angel in heaven and will watch over her family and extended family.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Malcolm “Mac” LeCompte of Delcambre; her children, Susan Davis of New Iberia, Carolyn “Fuzzy” Suire and husband Roland of Delcambre, Lisa Umphries and husband Todd of Delcambre, David LeCompte and wife Melanie of Delcambre, and Randy LeCompte of New Iberia; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild to be born in January; a sister, Marilyn “Toot” Martinson of Orange, TX; and her brothers, Harold “Bootsy” Plessala and wife Margie of Port Arthur, TX, Gene Plessala and wife Lynne of California, and Dr. Richard Plessala and wife Jody of Houston, TX.
