Affectionately known as Judy, she was born and raised in Louisiana and was a proud graduate of New Iberia Senior High School. She went on to dedicate many years of her life to a variety of local businesses, working for Dr. Bourgeois, Herpeche Construction, Wayne Labiche, Acadiana Filter Services, and J.D. Dugas. Judy was known for her strong work ethic, warm demeanor, and generous spirit.
Judy had a deep love for children and found great joy in their company. An avid horse enthusiast, she cherished time spent riding and being around animals. Her spiritual life was important to her, and she frequently attended retreats to deepen her faith. As a long-time parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, she faithfully served as a lay minister and brought Holy Communion to homebound parishioners, a service that brought comfort to many.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Delta Bonin Viator; her father, Octave Viator; her brother, Stanley Viator; and her maternal grandparents, Félicien and Louisiana (Vaughn) Bonin.
Judy is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Eldridge Viator; her niece, Michelle Viator Moudy; nephews, Kerry Viator, Keith Viator, and Todd Viator; along with many loving cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
A Graveside service for Judy will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:00 PM at St. Marcellus Mausoleum.
