Judy Darby Menard

NEW IBERIA – Memorial services will be celebrated for Judy Darby Menard, age 54, at 6:30 pm Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Evangeline Funeral Home. Fr. Barry Crochet will officiate. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Tuesday, July 26 from 4:00 pm until services.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Judy passed away peacefully on Friday, July 22, 2011 at University Medical Center in Lafayette, with her family at her side.

Judy was born July 28, 1956 to Bernard “Pete” Darby, Jr. and Eunice Dartez Darby and was one of eight children. She had a love for music and enjoyed singing, and also played some instruments. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Donald J. Menard; her brother and sisters, Terrell Darby and wife Dossie, June Armentor and husband Donald, and Diana Fruge’ and husband Acey Fruge, Jr. all of New Iberia; a sister-in-law, Shirley Trahan Darby of New Iberia; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Floyd, Carroll and David Darby; brother-in-law, James Bellow, Sr.; sister-in-law, Bonnie Meyers Darby; and nephews, Chet Bellow and Blaine Comeaux.
